First EpiPredict fellow received PhD degree

The first EpiPredict fellow, Rohit Bharat, received his PhD degree 8 February 2019 at the University of Milano-Bicocca, UNIMIB, Milan, Italy. Rohit worked on identifying metabolic rewiring of endocrine resistance pathways in ER+ breast cancer being supervised by prof. Marco Vanoni, prof. Lilia Alberghina and Dr. Daniela Gaglio. Rohit identified vital metabolic fluxes for cell survival indicating new putative targets. He used untargeted metabolic profiling and stable isotope resolved flux omics on resistant and sensitive breast cancer cell lines. Differences in metabolic flux distribution and flux rates were identified using a computational approach in collaboration with EpiPredict fellow Stefania Astrologo at UvA, Amsterdam, NL.
