EpiPredict first annual meeting, Amsterdam 2-8 February 2016
The first EpiPredict annual meeting with the Early Stage Researchers, was organized at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, 2-8 February 2016. The annual meeting consisting of intensive courses, fruitful research and management discussions and getting to know each other better was a great success.
The First EpiPredict annual meeting included:
- Workshop ‘Modelling Epigenetics’ by Prof. Hans Westerhoff et al.
- Workshop ‘Epigenetic interference’ by Prof. Rots, Dr Kiss and Dr Verschure
- Workshop ‘Socio public aspects and modern communication’ by Rathenau and Biotecture
- The first annual EpiPredict project meeting
3-day Modelling Epigenetics workshop, 2-4 Feb 2016
This workshop is intended for PhD-students and will involve hands-on modelling and lecture-based explanation of completed exercises.
The training introduces principles of generic modelling experiment frameworks, usage of experimental data in models and model analysis, data management and integration. The fellows will formulate and solve their own specific problems.
Organisers: Prof. Dr Hans Westerhoff, Dr Pernette Verschure
With: Pernette Verschure (UvA, Coordinator EU H2020 EpiPredict), Antoine van Kampen (UvA, AMC, PI EpiPredict), Alexey Kolodkin (University of Luxembourg), Lodewijk Wessels (Netherlands Cancer Institute, NKI), Frank Bruggeman (VU), Hans Westerhoff (VU/UvA, University of Manchester, PI EpiPredict).

Location: UvA University Library Singel, Amsterdam.
Registration (closed): As the number of attendees is limited (max 7 extra). After registration and acceptance to the workshop, you will receive more relevant information.
1,5-day Epigenetics interference course, 7-8 Feb 2016
This workshop is intended for PhD-students and will involve lecture-based training and an interactive session considering which tools/methods can be used/optimized to understand epigenetic gene regulation.
The training introduces most recent concepts and dogmas of epigenetic interference tools and more complex gene wiring including their application in biomedicine. The fellows will formulate how epigenetic interference tools can be used in their own research project.
With: Pernette Verschure (UvA-SILS, NL, Coordinator EpiPredict), Marianne Rots (UMCG, NL), Antal Kiss (MTA-SZBK, Hungary)
