Our genes are "what they are" and there is nothing we can do to influence our heritability, right? Not quite true! Inherited genes are influenced by a chemical layer on top of the genes themselves - the epigenetics. Epigenetic editing is a laboratory technique in which this layer is deliberately altered, in order to switch genes on or off. But, we humans can even edit epigenetics ourselves by making changes to our environment and living healthy.
